Plan & Prep | June 27th - July 3rd

Planning and Prepping your meals for the week is a great time saver and reduces food waste!
Using up "spoiled" milk for freezer biscuits in place of buttermilk.




On Sunday I prep work lunches for the week and get components for future dinners organized. Wednesday nights are often used for a second mini prep to get us through the rest of the week. 

Some weeks lend themselves to very structures meal plans, others will need a bit more flexibility. Let your schedule and activities drive your meal plan strategy.

This week is a four-day work week for the both of us due to the 4th of July being on a Saturday this year. I can't believe it's almost July already!

If you've followed my WWS & WWA, you know we've done a lot of stocking up the past couple weeks, and we are starting to receive some return from our gardening efforts. This week we are  again focusing on using up what's in the fridge, garden, pantry, and freezer.

Ben and I are both working back in the office now (part time for me), so all lunches and breakfasts are packed from home. 

Breakfasts for the Week
  • Strawberry-Banana Smoothies
  • Freezer Breakfast Burritos
  • Granola Bars
  • Breakfast Biscuits w/ Peanut Butter
Lunches for the Week
  • Tuna Wraps w/ Lettuce from Garden
  • Leftover Shepard's Pie from Family Game Night on Saturday
  • Leftover American Chop Suey from Family Game Night on Saturday
  • Dinner Leftovers
Lunch Snacks for the Week
  • Grapes
  • Watermelon
  • Yogurt
  • Also Available: carrots, popcorn, cheese sticks, nuts, pretzels, etc
Dinners for the Week 
  • Tacos w/ Spinach from Garden
  • Garlic Butter Steak Tips w/ Rice & Snow Peas from Garden
  • Something w/ Chicken - TBD
  • Fresh Green Beans & Spinach
Other
  • Restock Freezer Biscuits
  • Rhubarb Jam for Dad (canned)
Use it Up!
  • Fresh Spinach
  • Fresh Green Beans
  • Roma Tomatoes
  • Rhubarb
  • 1lb. Deli Ham
  • Yellow Peppers
From the Freezer & Pantry
  • Small amount of leftover hummus for Tuna Wraps
  • Taco Shells & Seasoning
  • Chicken Breast & Ground Beef
  • Canned Tuna
